Experts have said that primary school-aged children need 9-12 hours of sleep each night. It's therefore important that you get your kid into a proper, regular sleep routine. However, many of our moms have shared that their kids often wake up in the middle of the night from nightmares, or to take their medicine. These seem to be the most common interruptions to thier kids' sleep.
Here are some tips to help your kid develop a healthy sleep pattern:
1. start young - and make sure you have a regular sleep time and wake time every day of the week
2. spend about 30 minutes with your kid nightly before bedtime putting on his pajamas, reading, and doing other relaxing activities
3. avoid excessively long daytime naps
4. make sure their bedroom's quiet and dark - and not too warm
